Nate Diaz will likely be offered a fight with the UFC's newest rising star Khamzat Chimaev.
The former world title contender is going to have one more fight with the promotion before his contract is up, and he's likely to move on once his deal is finished.
And promotional boss Dana White seems to think that Chimaev is the best prospective opponent for Diaz, who is one of the biggest draws in the country.
Chimaev burst on to the scene with some explosive finishes last year, before being forced out due to long-term health issues.
And he immediately restored his star potential with a brutal submission victory over Li Jingliang on Saturday night at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi.
“We’re going to talk to Nate about it,” White told TMZ about the fight, which he claims he is "100 per cent" interested in making.
“This guy [Chimaev] is like nothing anyone has ever seen," he continued.

"When you think about it, he’s got more UFC wins than he’s been hit inside the octagon. It’s insane.
"The other night they filmed his walkout on Instagram Live, and it broke the record. It’s the biggest Instagram Live we’ve ever done.”
Chimaev is unbeaten in his ten professional fights to date, and made headlines when he dropped down in weight last year to face Rhys McKee at welterweight less than a week after taking on John Phillips at middleweight.
Diaz, on the other hand, is not known for his activity, having fought three times in the last five years since his series of bouts with Conor McGregor.
He won his return fight in the summer of 2019 against former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis before losing to Jorge Masvidal for the specially made 'BMF title' in November of that year.
And after another extended period out of the cage, he was beaten by Leon Edwards in a dominant one-sided fight over five rounds at UFC 263.

Chimaev hasn't yet faced a top fighter at the UFC level, after missing out on three dates against Edwards.
But the dominance of his wins over former BAMMA champions McKee and Phillips before his vicious stoppages of Gerald Meerschaert and Jingliang has proven exciting for fans and promoters alike.
“Hey, Diaz, let’s go, brother,” Chimaev said during a post-fight interview on Saturday night. “Let’s go. You gonna get some smoke, bro. Let’s see who is the real gangster.”
Diaz has been tipped to face Jake Paul in a boxing match once he is finished with the UFC, which has been a tumultuous relationship at the best of times.
There has been consistent interest in a trilogy between Diaz and McGregor, but the promotion have never shown much interest.
A fight with Paul could gross millions for the California native, assuming the YouTuber can beat Tommy Fury on December 18 in his next fight.
