Nate Diaz sends message to Conor McGregor after Donald Cerrone win

Conor McGregor's rival Nate Diaz appeared far from impressed by what he saw at UFC 246 following the Crumlin man's easy victory over Donald Cerrone on his return.

McGregor fought for the first time since he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.

And he made light work of his opponent, landing a left kick to the head in the opening seconds before dropping Cerrone and finishing the fight inside a minute.

Old foe Diaz has long been tipped to face McGregor in a trilogy fight, and he took to Twitter after the fight to criticise the event.

"Weak as f***" was his first Tweet, presumably a reference to Cerrone's poor performance and the ease at which McGregor saw off his opponent.

Diaz continued: "And why the f*** u in a robe? Smh", taking a dig at McGregor's fashion sense.

Finally, he ended by saying "This s***s all fake", with the 34-year-old clearly doubting the legitamacy of the whole fight.

McGregor and Diaz have taken each other on twice in the past, both in 2016, with Diaz winning the first encounter but McGregor getting his own back just five months later.

Speaking following his win over Cerrone, McGregor said: "I’m the first fighter in UFC history to secure a knockout victory at featherweight, lightweight and welterweight.

"I’m so happy. UFC can strip fighters and give fighters make believe belts but they can’t take away knockout finishes."
