Nate Diaz could fight for the last time against Jorge Masvidal on Saturday night.
Diaz takes on his welterweight rival for the specially-commissioned 'Baddest Motherf*****' belt at UFC 244 in New York.
And having fought for the first time in three years against Anthony Pettis in August, Diaz revealed he could now hang up his gloves.
“I’ll never have to fight again," he said. "I didn't have to fight a long time ago. But what am I going to do? I've got all kinds of other stuff going on, but I don’t like not fighting.
“I’ll take forever off, or I’ll get back to it if anybody comes correct. The only reason we’ve had problems in the past is because you better treat me like it’s supposed to be.
"I've been in this game forever doing my thing regardless of outcome. I’m coming back my next fight stronger, better anyways."
Diaz's participation at UFC 244 was plunged into doubt last week when he released a statement which said one of his drug tests had shown up an abnormality.
He was later cleared by USADA after a vegan supplement was found to be contaminated.
And Diaz said: “I wasn’t happy about any of it actually. I think it was all just a big old bunch of bulls***.
"I just wanted to not be a part of the big old f******* secret. I think the thing about people on steroids - people on steroids don’t talk about steroids out loud.
"I’m like if we’re going to have to get down to the point, let’s get down to the point. I’m not going to hold a secret or figure it out afterwards.
“We need to get this out of the way, because I’ve got s*** I’ve got to put my mind on. If we’ve got to cancel the fight, that’s what we’re going to have to do, but let’s get that s*** out the way because that’s whack.
"I thought was all made up and a bunch of bulls*** anyways. It’s behind so now we can move on."
