Nate Burleson: ‘Right now, Dwayne Haskins is a better QB than Eli Manning’

Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins has yet to throw a single pass in the NFL and early reviews out of organized team activities are mixed, but that matters not to NFL Network analyst Nate Burleson.

During a spot on “Good Morning Football” in which the panel was debating who would have more wins — the New York Giants or the Redskins — Burleson made what he knew would be a viral comment out of the gate.

“I know this is disrespect for everybody who loves Eli: Right now, Dwayne Haskins is a better quarterback than Eli Manning,” Burleson said. “Now, pure intelligence, of course you will give Eli the nod. But when it comes to the physical — being able to throw the ball, get the ball to the wide receivers — it’s Dwayne Haskins.”

Phew. That’s a doozy, indeed.

It’s not uncommon for Manning to be completely disrespected and have his Hall of Fame resume dismissed, but rarely is it to the degree that he’s considered a lesser talent than someone who’s yet to play a single NFL snap.

The 38-year-old Manning may not be what he was earlier in his career, but if you were listen to Golden Tate tell the story, the two-time Super Bowl MVP is still making throws most quarterbacks can’t.

We’ll see come September if Burleson’s proclamation hold water or if it’s just another anti-Eli hot take.
