Natalie Lowe pregnant: Strictly Come Dancing star 'overjoyed' to announce she is expecting first child

Strictly Come Dancing star Natalie Lowe has revealed that she is pregnant with her first child.

The dance professional said she was "overjoyed" to tell her Instagram followers that she and husband James Knibbs are expecting a baby after "a long and difficult journey."

The 38-year-old, who appeared on the show between 2009 and 2016 and still features on spin-off It Takes Two, said she felt "over the moon excited" to become a parent.

"So happy to be able to tell the world our AMAZING NEWS!" she wrote alongside a photo from her wedding to Knibbs. "My husband James and I are expecting!

"It has been a rather long and difficult journey, as it is sadly for many but we are almost there and it's now really happening. I am 21 weeks pregnant."

Lowe revealed that the "precious" baby is due on "the weekend of the Strictly final" and joked: "I now only have 1 season of #SCD to prepare for bubba's arrival... yikes."

She and Knibbs married in Australia in January 2018 in a ceremony attended by her Strictly co-star Ian Waite and former contestants Judy Murray and Dragon's Den's Deborah Meaden.

During her seven year stint as a Strictly competitor, the ballroom dancer was paired with stars including Hollyoaks actor Ricky Whittle, Olympian Greg Rutherford, cricketer Michael Vaughan and chef Ainsley Harriot.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One this autumn.
