Natalie Imbruglia's son almost ruined her appearance on Masked Singer after rule break

Natalie Imbruglia has revealed that her young son almost ruined her appearance on The Masked Singer after he blurted out her identity.

The 47-year-old singer is mum to her toddler Max Valentine, who was born in 2019, and thought she would be safe by telling him her secret.

Speaking to press including The Mirror, Natalie admitted why she had decided to tell young Max that she was performing as Panda.

"Well he's two, he can't talk! I didn't realise he was gonna be able to say, 'mummy, panda!' When the show started he couldn't even say 'mummy'!" Natalie explained.

"Little did I know, we go to Australia - I dunno if there's something in the air - he starts talking, so we flew back and suddenly he's able to point to a panda and say, 'mummy'. He was not saying 'mummy' when I started the show!"

Natalie then joked: "I was terrified! I was like I'm gonna have to keep my child locked in the house until the show airs! But it's not like he run into any pandas on the street so..."

Speaking about the wonderful moment that Max saw her on the television winning, Natalie said: "He was very animated, clapping his hands saying 'yay!' and pointing to the telly saying, 'mummy mummy' so it was very special."

Natalie announced on Instagram back in October 2019 that she had given birth to a baby boy, and named him Max Valentine Imbruglia. The child was conceived using IVF, and sperm from an unnamed donor.

The former Neighbours actress decided to take part in the show for Max because he simply "loves pandas".

Natalie beat the likes of Charlotte Church and Mark Feehily to win the 2022 series, but admitted she had no intention of being crowned champion.
