Nat Phillips absence explained as Mohamed Salah on bench for Leeds against Liverpool

Nat Phillips misses out for Liverpool through injury in tonight’s Premier League clash at Leeds United.

Phillips has a minor hamstring problem with Jurgen Klopp moving Fabinho back to partner Ozan Kabak at centre-back.

The Reds boss makes two changes from the side that were held to a goalless draw at home to Real Madrid in the Champions League last Wednesday.

With Fabinho moving out of midfield, Thiago Alcantara joins Gini Wijnaldum and skipper James Milner, playing against his former side, in midfield.

The other alteration sees Mohamed Salah rested to the bench for the first time since January in the Premier League, with Diogo Jota coming into the attack to join Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, who is likely to move to the right wing.

Alisson Becker continues in goal, with Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold the full-backs.

Ben Davies is among the substitutes.

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Kabak, Robertson; Milner, Wijnaldum, Thiago; Mane, Firmino, Jota.

Subs: Adrian, Keita, Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Shaqiri, Davies, R Williams, N Williams.
