Nastiest TV feuds ever... From vicious sackings and brutal barbs to diva rows

Everyone loves a good bust-up - especially when it's between the golden guys and gals of TV.

And there's been no shortage of savage spats between those on the box.

From sensational sackings and storming off set to fights about wages and yoga mats, here's some of the nastiest TV feuds they tried to hide.

Grab the popcorn...

Amanda Holden vs Phillip Schofield

Amanda accidentally exposed their simmering feud when she apparently went in on Phil during a This Morning ad break with her mic still on.

The Britain's Got Talent judge had reportedly been lined-up by producers to stand in for Holly Willoughby during I'm A Celebrity last November.

But as the story goes, Phil put the kibosh on it because he'd found her 'tricky' to work with when she covered Holly's maternity leave in 2015.

“She kept me on my toes," he previously said of their time together.

"She has a faulty edit button and she forgets she’s on the telly — which is enormously endearing and funny, but occasionally quite scary," he added.

Instead, Phil apparently pushed for Rochelle Humes to get the gig, leaving Amanda furious.

"She feels Phil unfairly used his powers of persuasion. She was told he’d chosen Rochelle because she was easier to ‘manage’ on air - and understandably that incensed her," a source told The Sun.

The feud then reignited last month when Amanda told her Heart FM listeners the three things she wouldn't want to find in her home are, "spiders, flies and Phillip Schofield."

Confirming the beef, she claimed Phil ignored her text when she tried to offer an olive branch and ask him for a coffee.

Phil himself took to  Twitter  to deny the allegations, writing: "The end of another really sad weekend. When you try for 35 years to be the easiest, most fun person to work with and you read such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless ‘sources’.

"Obviously I’ll take it on the chin.. I just hope you know me better."

Eamonn Holmes and Anthea Turner

Eamonn Holmes and Anthea Turner's spat took viciousness to the next level (ITV)

Years before Phil was clashing with his co-hosts, Eamonn Holmes got into a particularly nasty spat with his GMTV 'wife' Anthea Turner.

They hosted the show from 1994 to 1996 before Eamonn went rouge, branding her Princess Tippy-Toes and accusing her of being a vain diva in a shock interview.

What's more, he apparently told bosses he'd quit if Andrea wasn't sacked.

She promptly parted ways with the show, and Eamonn is said to have stormed off set on her last day as she was toasted with champagne

"I was gutted. What he did hurt me terribly. I'd be lying if I said it didn't," she told The Mirror soon after.

"To this day I don't understand why he did it. This was a man I'd worked with almost every day for more than two years.

"The fact is, I never was and never wanted to be a rival to Eamonn. Maybe he didn't understand that.

"He is an excellent journalist and he is well respected for that. He is also one of the best breakfast presenters in the business. I was never any threat to him."

They finally buried the hatchet in 2005 when Eamonn left the ITV show for Sky and reportedly sent her a hand-written apology.

Recently reuniting with Anthea on This Morning, Eamonn said: "We have put the past behind us. It is nice that we are at a stage in our lives when we can finally do just that."

Noel Edmonds and Holly Willoughby

There's no love lost between ITV's golden girl and kooky I'm A Celebrity star Noel, who famously got into a nasty barney in 2016.

Appearing on This Morning, Noel told Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield that 'positive energy' helped him beat prostate cancer.

Unimpressed, Holly questioned whether he would ask a child cancer sufferer if their illness had been caused by 'negative energy'.

Phillip called Noel 'insensitive' for tweeting a cancer patient and asking if their "ill-health was a result of their negative attitude."

And he couldn't hide his mirth over a yoga mat Noel brought in, which he claimed also got rid of the disease.

“Obviously people are going to get a little bit sceptical when you’re banging on about this £2,300 box - and you know the people who make it!” he blasted.

Noel accused the hosts of 'stitching him up' and later branded them "aggressive, disrespectful and dishonest."

Fern Britton vs Phillip Schofield

Fern and Phil were once the best of friends (ITV)

From 2002 until 2009 Fern and Phil appeared to be the very best of friends.

But it later emerged that their relationship had secretly soured after Fern apparently found out he was being paid £250,000 more than her.

She promptly quit and broke ties with Phil.

And when she returned to This Morning for the show's 30th anniversary last October, things got brutal when Fern claimed she hadn't been invited to the show's BAFTA ceremony.

Phil quickly retaliated on Twitter, snarkily writing, "Odd really, because she was invited and declined #memoryloss we’d have loved her to be there. A vital and much loved part of the show."

Things got tense before Fern dramatically quit (ITV)

It later emerged her agents hadn't passed on the invite. But the feud still won't quit with Fern's former agent Jon Roseman branding Phil an 'arch manipulator' because of his alleged meddling with the editorial content during their time on the show.

He told the Daily Mail: "From day one he began to interfere with the editorial content of the show. Fern always left it to the editor, a mistake she attempted to rectify, but too late.

"His stranglehold was too tight by the time she recognised what he was up to. Their ability to work together was up there with the Eamonn Holmes/Anthea Turner friction.

"He befriended Simon Shaps, the then boss of the network centre. After this friendship, all bets were off... he just got what he wanted."

Lorraine Kelly vs Esther McVey

Nice-as-pie Lorraine isn't a fan of Esther (PA)

The first anyone knew of this feud was when Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan interviewed Esther on Good Morning Britain, right before their handover to Lorraine Kelly.

And when Susanna asked Lorraine if she remembered Esther from their days co-hosting GMTV in the late nineties, the usually nice-as-pie host replied tersely, "Yep. Yes I do. Right, coming up after half past eight..."

Conservative leadership hopeful Esther later confirmed they'd shared a dressing room and said she was promoted to take Lorraine's place as Eamonn Holmes' partner.

Lorraine hit back, questioning Esther's version of events.

Esther, left, claimed she was promoted to co-host with Eamonn (Press Association)
But Lorraine insisted that wasn't the case (PA)

"I'm baffled, because I had my own show since 1992, and I don't actually think she joined until five years later," she said.

"I'll be genuinely honest, I don't remember her being... it was such a long time ago. My show was totally separate from that show so there was no interaction to be honest."

Instead, Lorraine said the feud was about Esther's political beliefs, in particular her repeated votes against LGBT rights such as gay marriage.

"I strongly disagree with her on LGBT rights, I just thought, I've had enough of this, we've had two-and-a-half years of going round in circles and not sorting Brexit out, and now we've got a state in Britain where people are at each other's throats, and it's got to stop," she said.

Fearne Cotton and Chanelle Hayes

The CBB star didn't mince her words (ITV)

Celebrity Big Brother star Chanelle took a random swipe at Fearne last September when she branded her the "rudest person she's met".

The catty comment came during Chanelle's Instagram Q&A when a fan asked her to name the rudest celeb she'd crossed paths with.

And Chanelle went straight in, sniping, "Ferne Cotton. Went to thank her after appearing on Celeb Juice and she looked me up and down then walked off without saying a word."

Chanelle appeared on the show in 2009 and 2011, but she didn't elaborate over the timing of their supposed clash.

Caroline Flack and Kelly Brook

Caroline Flack was reportedly left 'upset' when Kelly Brook bizarrely accused her of copying her life.

Kelly, 39, hosted the original Celebrity Love Island back in 2005 but was replaced by Fearne Cotton before Caroline took over when the series was resurrected in 2015.

Kelly also dated rugby star Danny in 2008, more than a decade before he was spotted smooching with Caroline at Somerset's Babington House earlier this year.

Branding Caroline's behaviour 'weird', Kelly sniped, “I can’t believe she’s doing Love Island and dating Danny Cipriani.

"I was like, ‘Is she just following my life or something’? Hang on, I was the first host of Love Island, then I dated Danny. It’s like, what’s next?

“Is she going to come and start hosting this show next?"

Continuing on the topic of Danny - who Caroline is said to have recently split from - she continued: "I don’t know if she’s still dating him. But when I look at stuff like that I’m like, ‘This is just weird. It’s just weird.'”

According to  The Sun  , Caroline, also 39, was hurt by her 'needlessly catty and unpleasant' comments.

“It’s well known that Kelly was sacked by Celebrity Love Island after the first series and replaced by Fearne Cotton," a source said.

“Caroline has hosted the show for five years and ITV have seen the ratings increase every year.”
