NASCAR driver falls off car while celebrating too hard

NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Cole Custer had a fantastic Friday night, winning his fifth race of the season in the second-tier national series. For his third victory in the last six events, Custer won the Alsco 300 at Kentucky Speedway after leading the last 89 laps.

Things were going great for him — until they briefly weren’t.

Like practically every driver does after driving to Victory Lane, Custer climbed out of his No. 00 Ford and stood on the window of the driver’s door. But as he smashed open two cold ones and began pouring them on his face, he lost his balance and fell off the car.

Luckily, Custer seemed fine and popped back up immediately to continue the celebration with his interview from Victory Lane. The Stewart-Haas Racing driver told NBC Sports after:

“Well I don’t look too good now falling off the car like that. But that was an unbelievable race. They just gave me a great car. I wasn’t happy with it at the start of the race, but, I mean, they just made the right adjustments. I can’t thank them enough.”

Good thing he’s able to laugh about the fall because the NASCAR world certainly did.
