NASCAR 25: Everything We Know About the First Multi-Platform NASCAR Game in Four Years

In a world where different motorsport categories have dedicated games, NASCAR has always been overshadowed. F1 has EA’s F1 series, the FIA WEC has Le Mans Ultimate, and even MotoGP has its official game.

But, finally, after four years since the last NASCAR game, fans are excited about NASCAR 25. It’s an officially licensed, multi-platform NASCAR game powered by iRacing. It promises realistic driving physics, a robust career mode, and competitive online racing. It also promises a large roster of drivers, teams, and cars for you to race with. It’s the kind of presentation NASCAR fans have been waiting for.

So, here is everything we currently know about the upcoming multiplatform NASCAR game by iRacing Studios.

Release Date And Platform Rollout

NASCAR 25 is going to be released on October 14, 2025, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. There is no confirmed release date for NASCAR 25 on PC, but it is confirmed to follow “soon after” the console launch. That could be days, weeks, or months; we don’t know.

Despite being released on multiple platforms, the game will not have crossplay. Meaning, you won’t be able to play with friends on different platforms.

Development And Engine

Despite being developed by iRacing Studio, the game is not made by the team behind iRacing. The game is developed by Monster Gaming, who have a history of working on NASCAR games like the NASCAR Heat series. Suffice to say, they know what they are doing.

The game is being built in Unreal Engine 5 as opposed to the previous games that were built in Unity. This means the game will feature stunning visuals and realistic physics, both of which NASCAR fans have been waiting for.

Content And Series Coverage

One thing is for sure: this game is going to be packed with content. It will feature four official series, including Cup, Xfinity, Craftsman Truck, and the ARCA Menards. In short, NASCAR 25 will be the most complete NASCAR game to date, featuring the entire ladder of American stock car racing.

Along with that, the game will feature a massive roster of licensed drivers, nearly 190 across all four series — you won’t have a problem finding your favorite drivers. That’s not all, the game will also have over 400 paint schemes, featuring alternate, special events, and throwback liveries.

For the tracks, the game will feature a wide range of official NASCAR tracks, including but not limited to.

  • Superspeedways: Daytona, Talladega
  • Intermediate Ovals: Charlotte, Texas, Kansas
  • Short Ovals: Martinsville, Bristol, Richmond
  • Road Courses: Watkins Glen, Circuit of the Americas (COTA), and Charlotte ROVAL
  • Dirt Racing: Bristol Dirt, a fan-favorite experiment in recent NASCAR seasons

iRacing has confirmed that 35 of the 37 2025 Cup Series tracks are already scanned, excluding only Bowman Gray Stadium and Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

The content depth is what sets NASCAR 25 apart from previous NASCAR games. Previous games mainly focused on the Cup series and provided shallow to no coverage on the lower tiers.

Immersive Career Mode

While the developers’ main focus is to polish and perfect the online gameplay in NASCAR 25, they have promised a robust career mode for the single-player experience. The Career mode will be a progression-type mode, where you will start in ARCA with a backyard garage and progress through the different tiers to reach Cup.

You can start as a driver for hire or create your own team and manage it. This includes team building and things like hiring staff, upgrading your car parts, and building your brand. Overall, the Career Mode will be a single-player aspect of NASCAR 25. Not everyone is going to be grinding ranked play, so it’s nice to have a good mode for the casuals.

Visuals, Presentation, And Soundtracks

As I mentioned before, NASCAR 25 is built on Unreal Engine 5. This means there will be a huge graphical leap compared to previous NASCAR games. Along with looking great, the game will have better physics and realistic driving.

It promises things like dynamic lighting and weather conditions, which affect how the track looks and feels across different day cycles. Overall, the game is going to look and feel realistic.

The game will also feature a 28-song soundtrack, featuring a wide array of artists including System of a Down, Molly Hatchet, Eddie Rabbitt, Killer Mike, Royal Blood, Chevelle, Jelly Roll, Breaking Benjamin, Dinosaur Jr., and others. Suffice to say, the game will not be lacking in terms of music.

Customization And Paint Booth

Customization has always been a core part of NASCAR games, and the new one doesn’t neglect it. The game will feature a custom paint booth that’s more similar to previous NASCAR games than iRacing

We still don’t know the full extent of the customization features. The game will have Template-based design tools allowing players to adjust base designs, change colors, and tweak patterns, as well as logos. It’s not going to be unlimited customization like iRacing’s Trading Paints. Customization will not be a free feature; we don’t know how the monetization will work, but there will be a pay wall.

Wrapping Things Up

There is a whole lot we still don’t know about NASCAR 25. As we get closer to the release date, we might get more information. As of yet, we don’t even have a gameplay trailer. So we’ll keep you up to date on that one.
