NASA named a newly discovered minor planet after Saudi student Faisal Aldossary, reported the Saudi Press Agency Tuesday.
He is the third gifted Saudi to have a minor planet named after him after Abduljabbar Al-Houmoud in 2016 and Fatima Al-Sheikh in 2017.
The new asteroid will hold the name Aldossary 34559.
Such an honor is usually given to students who excel in science at the Intel International Exhibit for Science and Engineering.
Aldossary, who is in his first year at UC Berkley, presented a research on fabricating botanical hormones for agricultural applications.
