NASA astronaut captures stunning time-lapse video of Earth from the ISS

Astronauts on board the International Space Station are treated to a unique view of Earth, that very few people will ever see in their lifetime.

The space station travels over our planet at a speed of roughly 17,150mph, meaning it orbits Earth around 16 times every day.

During a recent orbit of our planet, one NASA astronaut captured an incredible time-lapse video of Earth.

Nick Hague, who has is part of the Expedition 59 crew, managed to squeeze 30 minutes of footage into 60 seconds.

In the footage, you can see the edge of the International Space Station as it travels across our planet from the Pacific to the Atlantic.

He said: “Took a moment to capture the beauty of our planet today. I was awestruck as I watched the wispy clouds disappear into the shadows.”

Unfortunately for Flat-Earthers, Mr Hague’s video clearly shows that our planet is round - something that many people were quick to pick up on, on Twitter .

One user said: “Wow it’s not flat,” while another joked: “The Earth isn’t fast? This must be a conspiracy!”

If you want to see the International Space Station for yourself, make sure you check out the European Space Agency's ISS tracker , which shows where the space station is now, as well as where it will be in the next 30 minutes.
