A 34-YEAR-OLD woman will face court after allegedly leading police on a pursuit before returning a breath analysis reading of 0.098 while disqualified from driving.
Tuggerah Lakes police patrolling Bateau Bay attempted to stop a Kia Sportage about 10.40pm on Wednesday after the vehicle was allegedly speeding.
Police said the car failed to stop and a pursuit began, travelling through Bateau Bay and Killarney Vale before the driver lost control at the intersection of Shortland Street and Wyong Road.
It is alleged the car crashed into a traffic control light.
"As police approached the vehicle, the driver reversed, narrowly missing an officer," police said in a statement.
The 34-year-old woman was removed from the vehicle and breath testing, returning a positive result. A search also allegedly found cannabis in the woman's clothing.
The woman was arrested and taken to Wyong police station where it is alleged she returned a breath analysis of 0.098.
She was charged with police pursuit, mid-range drink-driving, driving while disqualified and drug possession.
She was refused bail to face Wyong Local Court on Thursday.
Separately, a rock climber was evacuated from Phegans Bay near Gosford on Wednesday afternoon after falling down a cliff.
Specialist rescue crews from Gosford's Fore and REscue NSW station packaged the climber into a stretcher and winched him into a helicopter alongside paramedics.
He was flown clear about 7.30pm.
