NARITA, Chiba -- Narita Airport closed one of its two runways on Monday afternoon for more than six hours after an Air Canada airplane mistakenly entered a taxiway that is under construction upon its arrival.
An Air Canada plane from Montreal was on its way to an aircraft parking apron after landing on the airport's Runway B. The aircraft stopped on the taxiway at around 3:45 p.m., forcing the runway to be closed. The closure was lifted around 10:05 p.m. after the plane was towed to another area.
No injuries were reported among the 212 passengers and crew due to the incident.
