Napoli president confirms Allan on verge of completing Everton transfer

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed that Allan is on the verge of joining Everton.

The Blues made a breakthrough in negotiations concerning the midfielder with the Serie A club over the weekend and it was understood a deal was close to being agreed.

Carlo Ancelotti has highlighted central midfield as one of his side's top priorities to improve over an important summer transfer window, and is keen on linking up with the 29-year-old once more.

And the latest update from Napoli's president seems to confirm that the move is on the verge of being completed.

De Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli [via FootballItalia ]: "We have reached the final salutes. He will go to Everton."

Some reports in Italy on Sunday suggested that the midfielder had missed Napoli training as rumours around a potential Everton medical begun to circulate.

This came after the midfielder was included on a list of players who will be training with Napoli this week.

However, following the latest update from the president, it would seem that things might have changed on this front with a move to Merseyside moving ever closer.
