Napoli hint at welcome change for Liverpool title plans

Liverpool may have seen a template for how they will lift their Premier League title.

On Wednesday night, Napoli beat Juventus on penalties in the Coppa Italia Final and their trophy celebrations were something akin to a more normal showing.

In May, when RB Salzburg lifted a domestic cup trophy in Austria, c ircles were marked out on the floor to show players where to stand, keeping them two metres apart from one another, despite the fact that they had just spent 90 minutes on the field playing as normal.

For Gennaro Gattuso's side last night though, social distancing was not in force during the ceremony after they downed Juventus 4-2 in the shootout and captain Lorenzo Insigne was surrounded by his team-mates as he lifted the trophy high into the air sparking jubilant celebrations from the players and staff.

They posed for a number of group pictures and kissed the trophy, passing it around for each individual to celebrate - albeit in front of an empty stadium.

And due to the fact there were no fans inside the stadium for the players to celebrate with, the noise levels were eerily quiet, as the video below shows.

Liverpool head to Goodison Park on Sunday to face Everton, knowing that a win will bring them within three points of claiming the Premier League title.
