Naoya Inoue has become the new IBF bantamweight champion after stopping Emmanuel Rodriguez in the second round in Glasgow.

‘The Monster’ has quickly built a reputation for being one of boxing’s most exciting fighters, adding another stoppage to his highlight reel with a devastating performance in the World Boxing Super Series semi-final.

Inoue is now a three-weight world champion at the age of 26, adding his latest title in another awesome display of power against a previously undefeated fighter in Rodriguez.

After a bright opening round from both fighters, Inoue took control in the second, sending the champion to the mat with a stinging left 30 seconds into the round.

Perhaps unwisely, Rodriguez rose only to be floored moments again with a vicious body shot.

He bravely rose to his feet for a third time before Inoue swarmed, ending the contest with another blistering flurry.

Inoue will have the chance to add more gold to his collection when he takes on veteran WBA Super champion Nonito Donaire in the WBSS final later this year.
