Naomi Osaka lived up to her reputation as a fashion icon in her latest Wimbledon appearance on Friday.
The former world number one walked onto Court 1 to face Australia's Daria Kasatkina in a stunning long, white embroidered cloak.
The 28-year-old has become renowned for her fashion-forward walk-on outfits which have included a tiered, ruffled skirt on day three of the Championships and a kimono-inspired dress on day one.
Friday’s match was no different as the 28-year-old entered the court in SW19 dressed in a long, tiered robe, complete with intricate embroidery around the lapel.
The robe featured a stitched-in ruffled skirt made of tulle, cascading to the floor as she walked onto the court.
Heads turned as the open-sleeves of Osaka’s cloak billowed in the wind, as if the court were a catwalk.
Japan’s Osaka wore a “jellyfish-inspired” outfit at the Australian Open, dedicated to her two-year-old daughter Shai, who she had with American rapper Cordae.
She said that “Nike let me design this one” as she arrived on court at Melbourne Park with a sunhat and veil over her face, accompanied by a white umbrella.
But, naturally, for Wimbledon, Osaka adhered to the all-white dress code of the All England club.
All England Club chief Sally Bolton was asked whether the Japanese 14th seed would be allowed to step onto court in one for this summer’s Championships.
“We’re very relaxed, so long as it meets the all-white dress code,” Ms Bolton told reporters on Monday.
“I haven’t had any conversations with her about what she wears, but as for any of our athletes coming onto court, all they have to do is follow the all-white dress code. We haven’t got any concerns that that will be an issue.”
