Nani names dream 5-a-side team from his ex-teammates - including three Man Utd stars

Nani has picked his dream 5-a-side team composed of his former teammates, including Cristiano Ronaldo as one of three former and current Manchester United stars that make the cut.

The 33-year-old currently captains Orlando City, joining the MLS side last year as he enters the final stages of a decorated career.

During an eight-year spell with United, Nani won seven major honours including four Premier League titles and the Champions League.

The Portuguese winger also won silverware with Sporting and the 2016 European Championship with his country.

And in his ultimate 5-a-side team of former colleagues, Nani ensured both his compatriots and former club teammates were represented.

In goal, United No1 David de Gea was given the gloves. Explaining his decision during an interview with Major League Soccer, Nani said: "David de Gea, for me one of the best in the world and a good friend of mine.

"But he must bring his glasses with him because he can't see anything without them. It's true."

Lining up in front of the Spaniard, Nani chose Portuguese duo Bruno Alves in defence and Deco in a more advanced role.

There was also room for United legend Paul Scholes, who played alongside Nani for six years after the latter moved to Old Trafford in 2007. "Great control of the ball, great vision," Nani said of the former England midfielder.

And, of course, Nani chose Ronaldo as the spearhead of his star-studded team. The pair played together for two years at Old Trafford and in the Portugal set-up for over a decade.

Discussing the Juventus superstar, Nani joked that he played an integral role in Ronaldo's development.

"Cristiano Ronaldo with all of his skills, fast feet. He learned a lot from me in the youth, he knows, he knows," Nani quipped.
