Those who have been missing out on their Nando's favourites will be delighted to hear that the chain is bringing back some spice to life by opening 54 branches - including one in Newcastle - for deliveries and collections.
The city branch at The Gate is included in the initial phase of reopenings and the company is to announce a further 40 outlets to follow suit on Wednesday.
The popular restaurant chain, famed for its peri-peri-style chicken dishes, will be offering a click and collection service and also delivery, with all orders placed for the latter on its website earning 'chillies' through its loyalty scheme which then can be redeemed when the restaurants open their doors for dine-in service later in the year.
The firm's plans to reopen restaurants in phases has gone down well with customers who are told that food preparation and deliveries adhere to strict safety guidelines.
Following trial runs, the company is focusing its reopenings in major UK cities including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham and Belfast and while not all chosen branches are offering both collection and delivery, Newcastle is among the lucky ones providing the two services.
And while Nando's is currently running a reduced menu, customer favourites such as flame-grilled peri-peri chicken wings, butterfly chicken, halloumi sticks and peri chips are all now available to enjoy at home.
Like deliveries, click and collect orders have to be placed online to avoid queues and to ensure customers only visit the restaurant at their allotted time for collection.
