Nando's restaurants to shut due to coronavirus

Nando’s has confirmed it has closed its restaurants today amid the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement released on Nando’s social media pages, the Peri-Peri chicken favourite said: “The health and safety of our customers and team is our highest priority.

“We have decided that the best course of action right now is to temporarily close our restaurants until further notice.

“We will keep you updated on our channels. We’ll see you soon. Lots of love, Nando’s x”.

Fans of the restaurant have been sharing their positive thoughts online too, with one person adding: “Sad times for all the workers but safety of the staff comes first.

“You have all done a great time since this has started and even before giving food to the homeless. Have a relaxing break and see you all back soon. Keep safe.”

Another said: “Nando’s is definitely one of the best supporting restaurants around. Amazing people, have some rest guys and stay safe.”

The news follows huge announcements that McDonald’s and Costa Coffee would close their doors this evening for the foreseeable future as the coronavirus outbreak continues.
