Nando's have announced the reopening of nearly 100 outlets across the UK, in line with the easing of lockdown measures.
The Peri-Peri chicken chain initially reopened 54 of its restaurants on Tuesday, May 26, for delivery and collection services across the UK and Ireland.
It then reopened a further 40 sites on Wednesday, May 27, as part of its phased reopening programme.
Among those outlets which have been reopened is Nando's Boucher Road branch, located at Boucher Square.
The reopening of these branches comes as the restaurant chain has made a commitment to implementing new safety measures in their kitchens.
These include reducing the number of staff members in each restaurant, providing customers, drivers and staff with hand sanitiser, making face coverings available for staff, and introducing daily hygiene briefings.
In a statement on their website concerning the reopenings, Nando's said: "We’re gradually firing our grills back up across the country for new Nando’s Delivery service and offering Click and Collect from most of Nando’s restaurants too.
"The safety of our customers and our team is our highest priority, so we’ve been working hard over the past few weeks to develop new measures in line with government guidelines. Read about our safety pledge here.
"We’re still not open for eat in or takeaway orders via the phone or in person, but you can now get your PERi PERi fix at home by ordering online from selected restaurants."
