Nando's is reopening three restaurants in Scotland for takeaway and delivery

The time has finally come when Scots enjoy a cheeky Nando's again.

The peri peri chicken chain is reopening the doors of three restaurants in Scotland this week.

Nando's joined a long list of fast food eateries to close in March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

But now Scots can get their peri peri fix as it fires up grills across the country in a phased reopening plan during lockdown.

Stores will be reopening in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow - but not for eating in.

Customers can order food through delivery or Click and Collect and will be expected to follow strict social distancing rules.

Nando’s hopes the takeaway service will minimise any queues as all orders and payments will be done online.

Order frequency will be monitored to stop too many people from visiting restaurants at one time while staff will follow safe hygiene practice.

A spokesperson said: “We are turning on our Click and Collect service (takeaway) at a number of restaurants this week as a safety test.

"We have no plans to stop delivery from any restaurant, click and collect would work in parallel.”

Nando's has also asked customers with a step-by-step process to picking up food through Click and Collect.

Nando's new rules:

Step 1 - Head to the restaurant as usual

Step 2 - Wait in one of the bays marked outside (if there isn’t one available, please wait somewhere nearby until one is)

Step 3 - When space is available, you’ll be called in by a host and asked to wait in the restaurant for your order

Step 4 - Once your order is ready please leave and enjoy your meal.

It is not known when more Nando's restaurants will open in Scotland, but you can keep an eye out on their website for any news.
