Nando's is opening a new restaurant in Walkden

Nando's fans are elated after the company announced a new restaurant in Greater Manchester.

The popular chicken chain has signed a 20-year lease on premises at Walkden Retail Park.

The park has been redeveloped over recent years and is home to an Marks and Spencer Foodhall, Total Fitness gym, Pets At Home and lots more.

Due to open in the spring of 2020, the Afro-Portuguese themed chain will occupy a 4,100 sq ft unit between Aldi and Tesco.

James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager for site owners The Derwent Group, said: “Nando’s will be the third food and beverage operator at Walkden Retail Park, joining Papa Johns and Purple Lounge Indian, and is a hugely popular brand to bring to the local area.

“We’re also delighted to strengthen our relationship with Nando’s in the UK, as this is the third site in our portfolio to welcome the brand.”

It will be the first Nando's in Walkden, with the nearest branches in Bolton, Leigh, Salford Quays and at Manchester Arndale.
