The arrival of the Afro-Portuguese-inspired fast food chain, which was delayed due to Covid, has also created 40 jobs.
Announcing its arrival to the town, Nando's said: "Ey up, Wigan - you asked, we listened. Our first ever Nando’s restaurant is coming to town.
"Yes, we’re bringing PERi-PERi to the home of the World Pie Eating Championship."
The restaurant is next to the DW stadium and has indoor and outdoor seating areas.
"So whether you’re a Warriors or Wigan Athletic fan, you can enjoy a post-match dinner and debrief. Or if you’re more of a film lover, the Empire cinema is right around the corner, too.
And for those of you who prefer to enjoy your Nando’s from the comfort of your settee, we’re available for Delivery and Collect from November 1," the restaurant said.
Nando's will be teaming up with local charities Fur Clemt and The Brick to donate food as part of its ongoing No Chuckin' Our Chicken campaign.
The Wigan restaurant is open from 11.30am to 10pm from Monday to Sunday.
