Nando's in Swansea's Wind Street is closing for a month and this is why

Nando's fans will be feeling lost for the next month at the news the popular restaurant in Swansea has temporarily closed its doors.

The popular chicken restaurant on Wind Street shut up shop on Monday, leaving many without their chicken fix.

But fear not, it will only be until July 25.

The reason for the closure is for a big makeover to be carried out.

In the meantime, they have pointed people in the direction of their Llanelli restaurant as an alternative for those who do not feel they can make it a month without their "peri-peri fix".

What happened when we tried the Nando's secret menu

They wrote on their website: "Sorry, we're closed for a make over! We'll be back open on July 25 for the big reveal, but until then you can still get your PERi-PERi fix at Llanelli Nando's."

Nando's is a South African restaurant chain, specialising in peri-peri style chicken dishes.

It opened its first UK restaurant in 1992 in west London and now has more than 280 branches in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Some chicken lovers in Swansea have already expressed their despair at the situation, with one person commenting "OMG" on Nando's Facebook page and another writing, "noooooo."

Nando's in Llanelli can be found at Eastgate Shopping Centre. There's also a restaurant in Cardiff.
