Nando's has axed one of its most popular items from the menu

When it comes to Nando's, there's always one thing people are passionate about - the spice they order.

Whether you enjoy some fiery extra hot goodness, or you're more of a wimp and opt for a milder option like lemon and herb, it's likely you have your mind firmly set on what you're going to order before even setting foot in a restaurant.

However, fans of mango and lime will want to think twice, as Nando's has revealed that it's being removed from the menu.

Replacing the flavour will be a new addition - mango and passion fruit.

A spokesperson for Nando's told Manchester Evening News: "Coming to Nando’s iconic PERi-ometer for just 4 months, the new limited-edition mild spice will give fans the opportunity to discover new flavours and give their usual Nando’s order a fruity kick.

Mango and Passion Fruit will soon be available to order (Nando's)

"Watch this space for more information on which seasonal flavour will be joining the PERi-ometer next."

They continued: "The new, Mild spice has been introduced following the success of Passion Fruit at Nando’s Yard last summer; a tropical and exotic flavour, passion fruit grows across Nando’s Southern African heartland, and is the perfect match for PERi-PERi Chicken.

"This tangy new flavour is perfect for those who like a little sweetness on their wings or want to try something different on their burger."

Diners will be able to order mango and passion fruit spice from today.
