Nando's adds limited edition coconut spice flavour to menu ahead of 'eat out to help out' scheme

Nando's

Nando’s has introduced a new flavour to its spice menu: coconut and lemon.

The flavour has replaced passion fruit and mango and is said to have been inspired by Mozambican cuisine.

Diners can choose to add the flavouring to any of Nando’s’ chicken or vegetarian dishes.

Nando’s announced the new flavour on Twitter on Friday.

“We know summer hasn’t quite hit right this year, so this one’s for you! Introducing our new spice, Coconut & Lemon,” the chicken chain tweeted alongside a photograph of a Nando’s meal.

The chain has not announced how long the spice will be available for.

Nando’s is one of the restaurants that will be participating in the government’s “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme that will entitle diners to 50 per cent off their meal.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak unveiled the scheme earlier this month to give diners discount off their bills during August.

“To get customers back into restaurants, cafes and pubs, and protect the 1.8 million people who work in them, I can announce today that, for the month of August, we will give everyone in the country an Eat Out to Help Out discount,” Mr Sunak said.

The scheme offers diners 50 per cent off meals, with the discount capping at £10 per head and includes food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Other restaurants taking part include Wagamama, Prezzo and Pizza Hut. You can see the full list here.
