TIRUPATI: Nandan Cleantec PLC chairman and managing director Srinivas Prasad Moturi donated a golden sword worth Rs. 1.8 crore to Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple on Monday.

The Hyderabad based devotee first offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at the hill temple and later handed over the golden sword to TTD's additional executive officer AV Dharma Reddy at the Ranganayakula mandapam inside the Tirumala temple on Monday morning.

Speaking to reporters, Srinivas Prasad Moturi said he took a vow to donate a golden sword to Lord Venkateswara sometime ago and was able to finally fulfill his vow on Monday.

"The golden sword is akin to the golden Surya Katari adorned to Lord Venkateswara in terms of size and shape. The new golden sword presented by us to the Tirumala temple weighs 6.5 kgs of gold and is worth approximately Rs.1.8 crore. The jewel was specially made at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and presented to the Tirumala temple on Monday", added the chairman and managing director of Hyderabad based Nandan Cleantec PLC.
