Nanaji Deshmukh Awas Yojana offers Rs 1.6 lakh housing aid: here's who is eligible and how to apply

Nanaji Deshmukh Awas Yojana is a Gujarat government scheme that provides Rs 1.6 lakh in financial assistance to registered construction workers who have been allotted homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or the Chief Minister Awas Yojana.

The scheme is implemented by the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board and is available once per family, subject to eligibility conditions.

Nanaji Deshmukh Awas Yojana Eligibility

To qualify, an applicant must be a construction worker registered with the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board for a minimum of two years at the time of application.

The house must have been allotted in an urban area by a local self-government organisation, an urban development authority, or the Gujarat Housing Board under either PMAY or CMAY. Applications can only be submitted after one year from the date of house allotment.

A key condition is that neither the registered worker, their spouse, nor any member of their family should own any land, property, or building at the time of application. Where a house has been jointly allotted to a husband and wife, either spouse who is a registered construction worker with the board can avail the benefit. The assistance is limited to once per family.

e-Nirman Card and How to Apply

The application process starts with obtaining an e-Nirman Card through the GBOCWWB's e-Nirman portal. Workers must register on the portal by submitting documents including Aadhaar, ration card, proof of age, an employer certificate, bank account details, and other prescribed documents.

Once the e-Nirman Card is in hand, eligible workers can apply for the scheme through the Gujarat government's Sanman portal.

The application on the Sanman portal requires the following documents:

  • e-Nirman Card
  • House allotment letter
  • Proof of instalment payment
  • Aadhaar card
  • Residence proof
  • Beneficiary identity card
  • Passport-sized photograph
  • Affidavit
  • Any other supporting documents as prescribed
GBOCWWB Approval Process

Submitted applications are verified at both the district and state levels before competent authorities approve them. Once approved, the financial assistance of Rs 1.6 lakh is processed and disbursed by the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board directly to the beneficiary.

Workers who have already received a house allotment under PMAY or CMAY and meet the two-year registration requirement can check their eligibility and begin the application process through the Sanman portal.
