Nan upset at missing grandkids has their Easter eggs delivered by drone

A kind-hearted grandson used his engineering skills so that his Nan could watch her grandkids receive their Easter eggs during the lockdown.

Bernie Jamieson, 74, from West Derby was feeling "depressed" at being unable to get to see her family receive their Easter eggs this year.

That was until her grandson, Ross Welsh, 22, from Knowsley decided to help his Nan out by delivering the family’s Easter eggs by drone and filming it for her to enjoy.

Ross’ dad, Ian, 46, told the ECHO that his son, who is a structural engineer, used a drone installed with a camera to save the day.

Ian said: "He was concerned that his Nan was so upset because she couldn’t get Easter eggs to her grandchildren this year, so he told me he was going to buy the eggs and drop them off at the grandkids’ houses and video it for her."

Ian sent the video to the ECHO showing the drone travelling across the skies of Liverpool before eventually delivering his Nan’s Easter eggs at all the houses where her young grandchildren live.

He said: "She was over the moon, she keeps putting on the family Whatsapp how great it was that she got to see the grandkids get their eggs."

Ian told the ECHO the family hadn’t been able to visit their grandparents properly since the lockdown began.

He said: "They haven’t been out the door, and she’s getting a bit depressed with it.

"Even though I see her every now and again from the gate it’s not the same, but the video has really helped lift her spirits."

Ian told us that his son Ross, who did all editing on the video as well, originally posted the video on the video-sharing app TikTok and received thousands of likes.
