Named and shamed: The latest drink drivers to be banned from the roads

Every week Nottinghamshire Live is highlighting all the drink driving cases to be heard at the city's magistrates' court.

Drink drivers are automatically banned from the roads but can also face stiffer penalties depending on the circumstances of their offending.

A 34-year-old man pleaded guilty to drink-driving in Mansfield Road in Eastwood.

Phillip David Brown, of Broad Lane, Brinsley, was behind the wheel of a Ford Transit van when he had 85 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35, on December 12.

He was fined £120, banned from driving for 18 months, ordered to pay £32 towards victim services and costs of £85.

One driver was fined £400 after he was caught drink-driving in Main Street, Sutton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.

Matthew Giles, 25, of Croxby Avenue, Grimsby, pleaded guilty to driving a white Land Rover when he had 82 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35, on December 13.

Giles received a driving ban for 18 months and orders to pay £40 towards victim services and costs of £85.

Magistrates imposed a fine of £200 on a drink driver.

Tomasz Knapik, 32, of Carter Lane, Mansfield, pleaded guilty to driving a Honda Civic in Eakring Road, Mansfield, on December 5.

He tested 52 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35.

His driving ban was for 12 months and he must pay costs of £85 and £32 towards victim services.

A man pleaded guilty to drink-driving in Rutland Avenue in Toton.

Shamas Jamaal Khan, 29, of Brookside Avenue, Wollaton, was driving when he had 166 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, over the limit of 80, on May 31.

He was fined £346, banned from driving for 18 months, ordered to pay £34 towards victim services and costs of £85.

A fine of £200 and a driving ban for 14 months was imposed when a Sneinton man appeared in court.

Kamil Powaga, 30, of Ladysmith Street, has to pay £30 towards victim services and costs of £85.

He pleaded guilty to driving a BMW in Crabtree Road, Bulwell, when he had 50 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35, on December 14.

A 36-year-old man was drink-driving in Nottingham Road in Stapleford.

Piotr Sulkowski, of Ewe Lamb Lane, Bramcote, pleaded guilty to having 81 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35, on November 9.

He was fined £380, banned from driving for 18 months, ordered to pay costs of £85 and £38 towards victim services.
