Hubballi: Tontada Siddharam Mahaswamiji of Gadag has demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi name the new Sansad Bhavan as Anubhav Mantap, a parliamentary platform of sharanas of the 12th century.
The seer has written to the PM, saying Anubhav Mantap, established by Basavanna and other sharanas, is considered as the first Parliament of the world. “Vachanas of Sharanas have become schedules of our Constutution. Basavanna and his counterparts propagated social and gender equality. It resembles Modi’s slogan of ‘sab ka saath, sab ka vikaas’.,” he added.
“By naming the new Parliament house as Anubhav Mantap, the government can uphold Indian culture and heritage,” he said.
