Nakhon Sri Thammarat airport closes on Thursday and Friday as floods hit the province.
The airport announced the temporary closure of the airport for safety of the aircraft and passengers due to flooding on a runway and the floodwater partially damaged the power system.
Suksawat Sukwanno, director of the airport, said the turn pad of Runway No. 19 was flooded and the power and air navigation systems of the airport completely broke down.
If rain stopped, the airport could reopen on Saturday, he said.
Nakhon Sri Thammarat is one of the provinces in the southern region damaged by downpours that triggered flash floods in several districts.
