Naked woman found with head injury, police question partner

Police say a 48-year-old man is assisting them with their enquiries after a woman was found unconscious and partly naked in central west New South Wales this morning.

The 37-year-old woman is in a critical condition with a significant head injury and has been flown to hospital in Sydney after she was found at a holiday park in Cowra about 7:30am today.

Detective Inspector Bruce Grassick said the woman lived locally.

"We're still trying to piece together what exactly has transpired," he said.

"There was evidence to suggest that she has suffered a head injury and we're just trying to ascertain how that head injury occurred.

Detective Inspector Grassick said the man helping them was the woman's partner.

"There is a 48-year-old male who is her partner who's currently assisting us with our enquires and will continue to assist with our enquires during the course of the day."

The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics.

A crime scene has been established and detectives from Canobolas Local Area Command are investigating.
