Naked man 'carrying severed hand' smashes through window to flee from house

A naked man was seen bursting through the front window of a home in front of shocked onlookers before running off down the street.

Emergency services descended on a residential street in Grimsby, late yesterday afternoon after the man fled cradling what was believed to be a body part.

It is not clear whether the man's hand was injured before or after he smashed through the glass to escape his abductors.

He sought refuge in a shop and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.

It is believed he was being held against his will after being kidnapped from another home in nearby Cleethorpes earlier in the day, reports Grimsby Live.

A photograph taken by a passerby shows the naked man, his left lower arm hidden by his body and an object in his right hand which is also shown in the shadow cast on the ground.

A terraced house which had been sealed off by police had its ground floor window almost completely smashed out.

Witnesses reported smashed glass from the ground floor window of the house and medical staff at the scene. Medical equipment used to treat the man was lying outside the Lifestyle Express shop.

One witness said: "Apparently the man jumped out of the window without any clothes on and ran across the road to a shop.

"It looks like he was treated by paramedics in the shop."

Several police cars and vans descended on the area with officers setting up a large scene of crime area.

Detectives were seen conducting door to door enquiries as they waited for Crime Scene Investigators to arrive.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Humberside Police, quoting log number 432 of September 12.
