Naked man arrested by plain clothes officers after police dog chase in cemetery

A 67-year-old man has been charged with gross indecency after he was allegedly spotted naked in an Adelaide Hills cemetery and chased by a police dog.

Police said two women reported seeing a man acting indecently in the Stirling Cemetery near Oxford Road and the Aldgate Primary School on Friday.

Statements from the women included "a detailed description of the male suspect", police said.

Plain clothes officers went to the site on Friday and again yesterday, when they allegedly spotted the man, who was naked, just before 2:30pm.

"Police cordons were set up and a police dog patrol was called in to search the area," police said in a statement.

"PD [police dog] Havoc tracked the naked suspect through scrub off Cumberland Road, where he was detained and arrested."

The Bridgewater man has been charged with two counts of gross indecency and one count of indecent behaviour.

He will appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court on November 18.

Police have asked anyone with information about the incidents, or similar ones, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
