Reason Of Violence

Violence erupted after VHP and Bajrang Dal held a demonstration in the city and demanded the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb and burnt a picture what Nagpur Commissioner of Police Ravinder Singal said was a photograph.

People thought that it was a holy book. This gave rise to rumours of the desecration of a holy book. Therefore people took to the streets in various parts of Nagpur and  hurled stones and torched several vehicles.
