Naga Munchetty 'couldn't take it anymore' and debuts DIY haircut on BBC

Naga Munchetty revealed the results of her at-home haircut on BBC Breakfast this morning after admitting that she 'couldn't take it anymore'.

The 45-year-old presenter, who is a newsreader on BBC Breakfast, took a pair of scissors to her dark locks and gave herself a fresh new cut.

Naga, who is known for her cropped pixie style, revealed that she'd tidied up her whole do much to the surprise of some of her friends.

Speaking to co-presenter Charlie Stayt, 57, Naga shared a picture of her sink full of hair and said she had 'done ok'.

"I couldn't take it any more, I actually cut all my hair. My make-up friends and hairdressing friends said "what are you doing?" but I couldn't take it," she told Charlie.

Naga's co-presenter added that he wasn't sure he 'liked' looking at the pictures of the DIY cut.

Shortly before discussing her cut on television, Naga also shared a post on social media and admitted that she was only meant to trim the sides by got carried away.

"I couldn't stop myself I was only meant to trim the sides! Couldn't bear the curly bits misbehaving anymore. Ho hum," she wrote.

In the collection of pictures, Naga gazed into her bathroom mirror with a pair of sharp scissors in hand.

Another action shot saw Naga take to the back of her hair with the scissors as she chopped off her 'curly bits'.

In front of her was a basin full of dark hair.

Despite what she suggested was hesitation from her hairstylist friends, Naga has actually been commended on her hair cutting talents by her social media followers.

"Wow, you did a great job!" wrote one fan.

Another added: "You look great no matter how curly your side bits are!"

"You rock that haircut," wrote another kind fan.

"Looks like a fabulous job! You have a second career if you ever give up the day job!" joked a fourth.

Hair salons and barber shops have been closed since March 24 when the lockdown came into place across the country.

Though businesses are closed for the time being, officials suggest that this might be reviewed around July.
