Nadine Coyle speaks out on Girls Aloud reunion plans amid Sarah Harding's devastating diagnosis

Nadine Coyle has confirmed that plans for a Girls Aloud reunion are very much on hold following bandmate Sarah Harding's devastating cancer diagnosis.

The girl band had been planning to reunite for their 20th anniversary next year but say they are now turning their attention to helping support Sarah as much as they can.

Sarah Harding revealed last year that she was battling breast cancer and updated fans in December that it had spread.

She has penned a book about her life and in a recent excerpt published by The Times, the pop star said that doctors told her Christmas 2020 would likely be her last.

She wrote: “In December my doctor told me that the upcoming Christmas would probably be my last.

“I don’t want an exact prognosis. I don’t know why anyone would want that.

“Comfort and being as pain-free as possible is what’s important to me now.”

Reflecting on the prospect of a reunion, Derry native Nadine told The Sun‘s Bizarre column: “I would love to be like, ‘Yes, this is what we’re doing’. At the minute, it’s very much thinking about Sarah, being there for Sarah.

“It’s a really unfortunate time for her and the whole thing is like, ‘Come on, come on’, because then that could be the priority – talking about, ‘Should we do a tour? Should we do something?’ Instead we’re worried about Sarah.

“We’re just focusing everything there. That is the main priority.”
