Nadine Coyle set to star in new singing game show beginning this month

A new singing game show starring Nadine Coyle is set to begin later this month.

The Derry woman will be a panellist alongside Joey Fatone and Samantha Mumba on 'Last Singer Standing', with Westlife's Nicky Byrne as host.

The TV show begins on Saturday, October 23 on RTÉ One and will run for eight weeks, with prize money of €25,000.

As the release date was announced, Nadine said: "We have a date!! 23rd October coming to @rteone #lastsingerstanding

"Such a fun show with incredible talent!!! I can’t wait for you all to see it!!! I will explain at some point when I can put into words how lucky I was to be part of this show with the amazing people involved!!

"Thank you for being so kind and helping me through a tough time!!"

A RTÉ spokesperson said: "Last Singing Standing is game show for all of the family to enjoy, it requires contestants to have tactics as well as talent, as singers face off against one another in a test of singing ability, and nerve."

Also speaking about the show, host Nicky Byrne said: "This show will have you on the edge of your seat - it's fast-paced, exciting, and full of jeopardy. Our singers face challenges like never before in their bid to land the top prize.

"The superstar pop panel of Nadine, Joey, and Samantha are talented, quick-witted, and full of personality. It's a fresh, new show and I think viewers will take it to their hearts on Saturday nights."

Former Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle previously added: "I loved the idea with this show of how quickly the participants might have to adapt to a song they are not familiar with in the original key in a high-pressured situation - it's exciting to watch.

"I'm just so impressed by the singing talent that there is on offer in Ireland, and I love that people are getting a chance to show that off on Last Singer Standing."
