Nadine Coyle 'lost for words' as she pays moving tribute to Sarah Harding

Nadine Coyle says that she is ‘lost for words’ following the death of former Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding.

The singer told fans that she was ‘absolutely devastated’ after it was confirmed that Sarah had tragically passed away at the age of 39 following a brief battle with breast cancer.

Sarah and Nadine were among the five members of the iconic Girls Aloud, who formed on ITV’s Popstars: The Rivals back in 2002.

The group went on to score a string of number one hit singles and albums over the eight years they were together.

Nadine posted a picture of her former bandmate alongside a tribute on Instagram earlier today.

She wrote: “I am absolutely devastated! I can’t think of words that could possibly express how I feel about this girl and what she means to me!

“I know so many of you will be feeling this way.

“For now, I’m sending so much love to you.”

News of Sarah’s passing was confirmed on Instagram this morning, as her mum revealed that she ‘slipped away’ peacefully this morning.

Sarah had undergone gruelling treatment to beat the cancer, including a mastectomy and intensive chemotherapy since first being diagnosed in summer 2020.

But in March this year she revealed the devastating news that the cancer had spread to her spine and she knew she was dying.

Her mum wrote today: “It’s with deep heartbreak that today I’m sharing the news that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away. Many of you will know of Sarah’s battle with cancer and that she fought so strongly from her diagnosis until her last day.

"She slipped away peacefully this morning. I’d like to thank everyone for their kind support over the past year. It meant the world to Sarah and it gave her great strength and comfort to know she was loved. I know she won’t want to be remembered for her fight against this terrible disease – she was a bright shining star and I hope that’s how she can be remembered instead.”
