She told her campmates: "Louis Walsh, he made me audition for Girls Aloud, he said, 'If you don't, I won't speak to you again'.

"I was like, 'We don't speak that much anyway'."

She added: "I went and it all worked out well, I wouldn't have gone to the audition if it wasn't for him.

"I wouldn't have been in Girls Aloud and then swallowing cockroaches."

Nadine, 34, found fame with the girlgroup after they were put together on TV show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

But it wasn't her first dealing with their eventual manager Louis.

Before that Nadine auditioned for the Irish version of Popstars - where Walsh was also a judge - and won a place in the band Six.

It was later revealed that Nadine had lied about her age and was two years younger than the minimum age requirement of 18.

After her fibbing caused a huge scandal, Nadine was kicked out the group and forced to return to college but a year later Walsh got back in touch and encouraged her to audition for a new ITV talent show.

Under the management of Walsh, Nadine and Girls Aloud went on to score the Christmas Number One with Sound of the Underground followed up with nineteen consecutive top ten singles and two number one albums.

The band called it a day in 2013 following their 10 year reunion tour.

While Nadine is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity thanks to her stint on I'm A Celeb, over the weekend it was reported that Walsh had been sacked from The X Factor for the third time .

The manager was brought back to the series for X Factor: Celebrity but it was confirmed he's lost his seat on the judging panel for X Factor: The Band which starts next week.

Instead, Simon and fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger will be the only two judges on the show - with Louis left out in the cold once again.

“Louis had a fantastic time on  X Factor  : Celebrity and was confident he would be back for The Band,” a source told The Sun on Sunday.

“He obviously has a lot of experience working with bands such as Westlife. But Simon had other ideas. He felt it would make more sense to have him mentoring the boys and Nicole looking after the girls. Louis was offered a role as an adviser,” they continued.

A show source has attempted to silence any speculation that there could be a fresh fall out between Simon and Louis after the Irishman refused to be reduced to only an advisor.

Louis respects the producers’ decision and knows they do what is best for the show. There is certainly no bad blood or fallout,” the spokesperson said.

X Factor: The Band is due to air over one week - kicking off on Monday 9 December on ITV.

While the Celebrity version of the series came to a climactic end on Saturday night -  with allegations of the final being a ‘fix’  being thrown as Megan McKenna won.
