Nadia Essex's 13-month-old son Ezekiel rushed to hospital with infection

Nadia Essex has revealed her son Ezekiel, who is just over one year old, was rushed into hospital on Wednesday after contracting a viral infection.

The former Celebs Go Dating star talked about the scary moment with her fans during a taxi ride home with her little one.

Clearing things up, she explained: "He is okay. He has got a viral infection. So, just lots of cuddles and Calpol. Doctor's orders."

Nadia, 39, said that she wasn't convinced with the medical advice she had received, adding: "I feel like I'm missing the magic key to help settle him because I'm tired and alone."

"He's been to sleep for like 20 minutes and he's probably going to wake up in an hour. Literally, is the best thing for me to do cuddle him?" she asked her followers on Instagram.

"I'm giving him Calpol and paracetamol as per the doctor's orders but he's still got a temperature and he's still properly crying."

The reality star was left exhausted as she revealed she hasn't been able to sleep for the last 48 hours.

Nadia welcomed her son into the world last March - 10 days before the first UK lockdown - and she decided to keep the identity of the father under wraps.

It's been very up and down for the doting mum, who has shared the realities of motherhood as she takes on the journey.

She told Mail Online about life as a single parent, explaining: "Being single and a new mum during the pandemic has been crazy. I literally went from having friends over every day to help me by either cleaning or having a cup of tea, to it just being me and my baby with no help or respite while trying to recover from a C-section."

"I look back and think I don't know how I got through it to be honest. It is sad to think he will be one in about two weeks time and has never taken part in any group activities with other babies outside of the house."

However Nadia sweetly revealed she has formed a close bond with her son during the lockdown.

"For me, 2020 has been the best time in my life because of this beautiful bundle of joy and all of a sudden, I felt a love that I had never felt before," she concluded.
