Nadeshot rants about cheating in ARC Raiders: ‘Might be worse than peak Call of Duty’

100 Thieves founder Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag has expressed utter disappointment with ARC Raiders’ cheating problem, claiming it “might be worse than peak Call of Duty” after a brutal first week of raids to start the new year.

In a lengthy post on X, Nadeshot said his recent experience on ARC Raiders has been “hell,” even though he still considers it one of his top ten games of all time. He explained that he now struggles to complete a single raid without encountering suspicious Steam accounts, including new profiles and players with multiple game or VAC bans.

Nadeshot feels ARC Raiders’ cheating case might be worse than CoD

The ex-Call of Duty pro stopped short of outright slamming the game, stressing he was not trying to pile on negativity but could not ignore how often cheaters show up in his lobbies. For him, the scale of exploitation is already at par and potentially exceeds some of the worst periods in CoD’s own cheating history.

Nadeshot described the “egregious amount of cheating” as so bad it “genuinely might be worse than peak Call of Duty.” He highlighted encounters with invincible opponents and a highly suspect aim that make extraction feel impossible rather than tense or rewarding. Despite the frustration, he reiterated that ARC Raiders sits firmly in his personal favorites and wants the game to succeed long-term.

Nadeshot calls on Embark to get aggressive to deal with cheaters

Looking ahead, Nadeshot suggested developer Embark Studios might need to follow Fortnite’s lead and pursue legal action against cheat sellers if they want to secure ARC Raiders’ future. He framed strong anti-cheat enforcement as essential not just for casual players, but also for streamers, creators, and the broader ecosystem.

The comments of Nadeshot, who is affiliated with esports betting platform and crypto casino Roobet, land with extra weight to the community. For many fans, his rant is less a throwaway complaint and more a warning shot that ARC Raiders needs decisive anti-cheat action before its momentum slips.

Community reactions

Timthetatman commented on his X post, seemed shocked at the rant, and said, “I didn’t know what to expect when I hit show more, but holy ****.”

Another user said, “Embark, I’m assuming, doesn’t have the money to go after them like Epic.” Nadeshot also agreed to this and said, “Great point. That certainly crossed my mind. Smaller studio, less resources. I get it. I don’t have any other ideas, though.”

Some players think Embark needs to introduce “BIOS-level anticheat like DICE did with BF6.”
