Naby Keita stretchered off after horror Paul Pogba tackle results in red card during Manchester United vs Liverpool

Naby Keita has handed Liverpool an injury scare after he was stretchered off at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Guinean had been the Reds' star performer against Manchester United as he bounced back from his half-time substitution against Atletico Madrid in the most emphatic of fashions, scoring the opening goal and setting up another as Jurgen Klopp's side raced into a 5-0 lead.

However, his afternoon came to a premature end on the hour-mark following a thunderous tackle from Paul Pogba on the edge of the Liverpool box.

The Frenchman, who only came on at half-time was initially booked for the challenge, before it was upgraded to a red card following a VAR intervention.

With Keita unable to carry on, he was stretchered with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain brought on in his place.

Liverpool had already lost James Milner to injury in the first half, while Fabinho missed the game through a setback of his own, while Klopp was already without fellow midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott.
