Naby Keita proves Jurgen Klopp right as Liverpool wait on postponement request

Here is your morning Liverpool digest on Saturday, January 15.

Jurgen knows best

Liverpool's 0-0 draw with Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg highlighted the importance of a certain number of players.

One of those players is Naby Keita, who is currently in Cameroon representing Guinea in the African Cup of Nations.

And the Liverpool midfielder put in a terrific display on Friday as he captained his country to a 0-0 draw against Senegal, who were led by his club team-mate Sadio Mane.

Keita's efforts were rewarded with the man-of-the-match award, for the second game running at the tournament, and further highlighted how key he is to Jurgen Klopp's side, something the German manager pointed out before the Senegal match.

Cup game up in the air

The Reds head into that semi-final second leg not knowing whether the game will go ahead.

Opponents Arsenal are scheduled to play Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in the North London Derby in the Premier League.

But the Gunners have asked the league to postpone the game due to a lack of players.

And if the Premier League grants that request, it could put the cup decider with Liverpool in jeopardy.
