Naby Keita must take next step at Liverpool as big decision looms

We’re two men down now in midfield which is not ideal, but they’ve got five other players who can play in there. We’ll see what happens with Thiago.

We expected a lot more than what we’ve seen from Naby Keita but he’s got to take the bull by horns, especially with the contract situation.

Whether he moves on or signs a new contract with Liverpool, he’s got to start really showing why we bought him.

We’ve seen it in fits and starts, but we haven’t seen it consistently. We’ve seen it sporadically.

He has got great feet. He should be scoring between five and ten goals a season. He’s not the quickest but skills wise, he is very, very good.

I thought Milner was brilliant against Palace. He was astounding for his age. He was first in the tackles, first in the sprints and his crossing was excellent.

He’s Mr. Versatile, Mr. Dependable. Whenever you need him, he comes in and does a great job.

It doesn’t go unnoticed with the fans and he needs to know the fans appreciate him massively.

He’s great in the changing room, is essential for the squad and was sublime at the weekend.

Norwich City opportunities

It would be nice if we could have a cup run and get to Wembley. We haven’t been there for some time now and it used to be our second home. A nice little trip, be it in the League Cup or FA Cup.

It’s a tricky tie, there will be rotation no doubt but we’ve got a strong side. They’re a strong side that’s good enough to beat Norwich, depending on how strong they go.

I hope Curtis Jones can stake his claim against Norwich. I thought he came on and did well on Saturday.

He did some really nice things. He knows now there is a challenge and an opening for the spot in midfield with the couple of injuries.

We know what he is capable of doing. He is a local lad and has everything you need to be a goalscoring midfielder.

I really hope he can show us all what he’s got.

Even if it’s off the bench, a couple of the young lads might also get a run-out. It’s a great opportunity for them.

We’ve seen what young Harvey Elliott has done, Trent has done and how Curtis has done. If you’re good enough, Jurgen will give you a chance.

Musialowski looks good and Kaide Gordon looks really good. There’s other lads who don’t get mentioned, local lads, trying to get through so we’ll keep an eye out for them as well.

I’m looking forward to the game and it’ll be nice to get through, get a nice draw and get to the quarters.
