Naby Keita injury update after Liverpool midfielder suffers further disappointment

Jurgen Klopp is hopeful Naby Keita's injury won't sideline the midfielder for a significant period of time.

The Guinean limped straight down the tunnel after being substituted 10 minutes into the second half of Liverpool 's thrilling 5-5 draw with Arsenal in the Carabao Cup .

Keita's replacement, Curtis Jones, scored the winner in the subsequent penalty shootout and Klopp said that the £52m signing's knock was the "only shadow" on a positive night for his side.

“It was the only little shadow on the night,” said the Reds boss. “He slipped. I saw that.

“Afterwards he was limping a little bit and he said it was ‘ugh’. Hopefully it is not too serious. We will see.”

Keita has endured a stop start career since moving to Anfield in July 2018. The former RB Leipzig man missed the end of last season, including the Champions League final victory over Tottenham , before being sidelined for much of this season.
