Nabil Fekir's agent confirms key detail of French star's Liverpool transfer

Nabil Fekir's soon-to-be former agent has confirmed that his client was photographed in a Liverpool shirt prior to his expected move last summer.

It was widely reported that Lyon star Fekir was snapped in a Reds shirt in anticipation for his £53million signing being announced, but it was later claimed that these images were fake.

Liverpool pulled the plug on the deal following complications with the World Cup winner's medical, and that has soured the relationship between Fekir and Bernes, who reportedly no longer speak.

Bernes will no longer be Fekir's agent when their agreement ends on April 17, at which point Fekir will be free to appoint new representation.

The playmaker is widely expected to leave Lyon this summer as he enters into the final year of his contract.

Last week it was reported that both he and defensive midfielder Tanguy N'Dombele have 'gentlemen's agreements' with Lyon owner Jean-Michel Aulas to leave the club this summer.

And Bernes has now revealed some of the details of the botched Liverpool deal.

“It is not about staying here," he told L'Equipe, via GFFN .

"And we will know maybe the real circumstances that prevented Fekir’s move to Liverpool . The knee was a part of it, but not only that. He had passed a medical, done photos with the Reds shirt…”

It is not known whether the Reds will rekindle their move for Fekir in the summer, although he is now expected to cost much less than £53million.
